China: our desk at the origin of the corridor.
The Beijing desk has been with the company since the beginning. It exists so that supplier qualification, negotiation and inspection are done by our own people, in the language, at the factory — and so that the cargo, the documents and the customs position travel as one file into Africa.

Local context
What a desk at origin actually changes
Most sourcing failures are not price failures. They are qualification failures: a trading house presented as a factory, a capacity claim that is not verified, a specification agreed verbally, and an inspection that happens after the container has sailed. Every one of those is prevented by someone standing in the plant, reading the registration documents in the original, and asking the question in Mandarin.
That is what the Beijing desk is for. It qualifies the supplier, holds the relationship, runs the three inspection gates before dispatch, and hands the same file to freight rather than to a third party who was not in the conversation.
Both directions
The corridor also runs the other way. African and lusophone producers reaching Chinese buyers get the same qualification discipline applied to the buyer, and the same team on the documents.
Requirements, contribution rates and processing sequences change. Our office confirms the current position for your case before you commit.

Common questions
Operating in China
Do you form companies or employ staff in China?
No. In China we run procurement, sourcing, quality inspection and freight, plus representation for clients doing business with Chinese counterparts. Entity formation and employment in China are not part of our offer.
Do you take a margin on the factory price?
No. We agree the basis of our fee in writing before any work starts, and you see what the supplier quoted. An undisclosed margin on the factory price is the practice that makes most sourcing relationships adversarial.
Can you inspect goods from a supplier we already use?
Yes. Supplier audit and the three inspection gates are available on their own, whether or not we sourced the supplier — and we will report what we find, including when it is inconvenient.
