Angola · Luanda
Angola rewards presence, and penalises its absence.
Angolan process is relational and physical: documents are collected, queues are stood in and officials are known by name. Our Luanda office carries company formation, employment, work visas, payroll and customs for clients who cannot be in the room — and for those who are, but need the file to keep moving when they are not.

Local context
Employing and establishing in Angola
Angola is a civil-law jurisdiction where corporate and employment documentation is produced in Portuguese and administered through national institutions rather than online self-service. Incorporation runs through the Guichê Único da Empresa; employment obliges the employer to register with the tax authority and the social-security system, to withhold employee tax at source, and to contribute as employer on top of gross pay.
Foreign nationals need a work visa tied to the employing entity before they may lawfully work. Supporting documents issued abroad generally require certified Portuguese translation and apostille or consular legalisation — which is where most timelines slip when the file is handled remotely.
The chain matters more here than anywhere
Angola is also where the integrated chain earns its keep. A client establishing an operation usually needs the entity, the staff, the visas and the imported equipment at the same time, and each of those runs through a different institution. Running them as one file, from one office, is the difference between a quarter and a year.
Requirements, contribution rates and processing sequences change. Our office confirms the current position for your case before you commit.

Common questions
Operating in Angola
Can we hire in Angola before our company is registered?
Yes. That is what the Employer of Record is for: we employ the person through our Angolan entity from day one while your incorporation runs in parallel — or instead of it, if you decide you do not need a local company.
Does everything have to be in Portuguese?
Corporate and employment documents are produced and filed in Portuguese, and documents issued abroad need certified translation and legalisation. We draft in Portuguese and provide the English version for your records, so both sides of the relationship are working from the same terms.
Can you clear our equipment through customs in Luanda?
Yes. Freight and customs are run by the same office, which means the import documentation is prepared against the entity we registered and the goods we sourced, rather than assembled at the port by three parties who have never spoken.
